Frequently asked questions

Everything practical, answered honestly.

General
Is it possible to do a payment plan?+

Yes! We are now offering monthly payment installments with a 20% up-front deposit. Please note that your balance must be fully paid 2 weeks prior to your arrival at BreathCamp. To take advantage of this offer, select ’Deposit with installment payments’ from the dropdown at checkout.

Is it possible to leave sooner than the end?+

If you can’t stay for the full 7 days, you are welcome to leave early. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer any refunds or discounts if you choose to leave early. Alchemy of Breath students attending BreathCamp to complete the Facilitator Training are required to stay for the full 7 days to be eligible to graduate.

I am very very new to breathwork. Is BreathCamp right for someone like me?+

Thank you for the question. You are so very welcome, at exactly the stage you are at. You’ll be surrounded by graduates of breathwork, whose speciality is people just like you, just where you’re at. So, know the content and care is for two groups – both advanced (our graduates), and the general public, who are at varying stages of experience (many breathing for the first time). Just know, you’ll be held and taken care of in a beautiful way from the very start of your breathwork journey! Exciting!

Which airport is best to fly into to get to ASHA?+

Rome Fiumicino (FCO) is the best airport to fly into. See ’Is there taxi service? How do I get to ASHA?’ just below for full travel and taxi details.

Is there taxi service? How do I get to ASHA?+

1. Rent a car from FCO (Rome airport)

  • This is the easiest option.
  • Once signed up, you’ll receive access to your Student Forum group, where you can find ride shares, let others have a car, and more.

2. Take the train from FCO

  • It’s easy, with 2–3 train changes.
  • The nearest train station is Chiusi-Chianciano Terme.
  • Taxi service: Il Postalino — ilpostalino.com, WhatsApp +39 335 5424668, phone +39 578 749056. Please book in advance. Languages: English, Italian. Cost: 100–120€ one way.

Check the bottom of this page and your Student Forum group for more details and resources on how to get to ASHA.

How do I get to town from ASHA without a car?+

It’s about 1.5 kilometres, or a 20 minute very beautiful walk along a vast view of the valley. It’s up a big hill from ASHA, so it’s for the fit-minded. Otherwise, it’s a 5 minute drive.

Do you have wifi?+

Yes, free wifi is available in the main house and Dharma Den, though not in the rooms or around the property.

What SIM cards work at ASHA?+

We suggest picking up a TIM or Wind SIM card when you arrive in Italy. Because ASHA is half an hour away from a major town, it’s important to pick it up before coming to ASHA.

Are there cats/dogs on site? Can I bring my animal(s)?+

At ASHA we have 7 cats and 2 dogs. Given the sensitive nature of cats (and previous not-so-great experiences with dogs chasing them), leashes are required and strictly enforced. Our dogs are not on leashes as they are integrated with our cats — they know who the boss is. We are surrounded by endless woods where your dog can roam free, though please keep them on a leash while at ASHA. Also, please be mindful of cleaning up after them. There’s a 40 euro donation fee per pet.

Where can I do laundry?+

We now have a new laundry mat in the centre of Castell’Azzara village, only a 20 minute walk away, under the arches. It’s super easy to find.

Is there a designated smoking area at ASHA?+

Smoking is only permitted in the parking lot. Please do not smoke inside or outside of your room, in the common areas, or any other areas of ASHA and all camp locations. And do consider that smoking isn’t a part of our culture, and not encouraged.

Are there good restaurants in town?+

There are 2 restaurants in Castell’Azzara: La Tana dell’Orso — a favourite — and a pizzeria called La Rosa dei Venti. Also in nearby San Giovanni delle Contee (10 minutes’ drive away) there’s Osteria Maccalè, which we love. Check out the nearby, super-beautiful towns of Pitigliano and Sorano for more options.

We also LOVE Zara Fresca, our new ice cream and sandwich shop started by one of our community members — highly recommended for an ice cream and other goodies!

What about the use of alcohol and drugs?+

Please keep in mind we are a well-being centre — this just isn’t the place for smoking, drugs, or alcohol. Like to have a glass of wine here and there? Sure. Though we trust you understand the nature of this work and will not abuse the use of wine, just because it’s part of Italian culture (at ASHA, and in general while staying in the area).

Are there places to shop in Castell’Azzara?+

There’s one grocery store — The Co-op — plus a veg store and a Thursday morning produce/general market. The Co-op does have some organic dry products. We recommend bringing any speciality items. It’s basic in Castell’Azzara — not bad, though basic.

What is there to do around ASHA?+

There are many hiking trails around ASHA! If you’re interested, we recommend checking with our community member Stuart, who knows pretty much all of them. Castell’Azzara is surrounded by beautiful villages such as Pitigliano and Sorano. There are also many historical sites dating back to the Etruscan people, the ancestors whose spirits still spread blessings to the land around ASHA. There are many natural hot springs within half an hour of ASHA, including Bagni San Casciano and Bagni San Filippo.

What’s the policy on children & teenagers?+

Kids are welcome at ASHA and a huge part of our vision. There’s plenty of space for them to roam in a safe environment. Please be responsible for them at all times, including their clean-up in communal spaces. Kids can only stay in private accommodation with their guardian (tent, glamping, camper, or private cottage) — not in shared accommodation with other students.

Kids under 10 eat and stay for free. Kids 11 and over are charged for food and accommodation at New Member pricing, with a 20% discount. Attentive kids are welcome to join BreathCamp at the discretion of the trainer and facilitator of each session. Reach out to info@asha.global for more information and to receive a special 20% coupon code. This offer applies for each kid in a family.

Can I arrive early or stay longer?+

Please contact info@asha.global to check availability.

Are there any conduct rules I need to follow at BreathCamp?+

Yes! Please keep in mind that due to the nature of our work, intimacy is usually at an all-time high. Please don’t mistake that as an emotional or sexual invitation. Be considerate of others’ personal space, and don’t assume anything. And please keep sexuality in general out of the equation unless you arrived as a couple. Together, let’s protect a safe space for everyone.

I like plenty of space to emotionally process. Is there a way to protect that during BreathCamp with so many people around?+

Absolutely. We suggest setting your own boundaries and clearly communicating them as needed. You’re also welcome to reach out to the mentors and team if you need support. Take your space as needed!

What is the program schedule?+

See above for a typical daily schedule. We will be sending a more detailed program guide and camp schedule soon, so watch your inbox as your camp date approaches.

I need to book my return flight. What time do we finish on the last day?+

We finish after lunch, around 2 pm on the final day.

I would like to book more than one retreat at ASHA. How do I do that?+

You’ll need to pay for each retreat individually. Our system doesn’t allow for multiple bookings at one time.

What should I bring?+

Loose, comfortable, layered session clothing and house slippers; long pants and sturdy walking shoes; a swimsuit; warm clothes for evenings; biodegradable toiletries; an alarm clock; bug spray; and ear plugs if you’re sensitive to noise during breathwork. We recommend bringing your own yoga mat, and travel and medical insurance is suggested.

What’s included — and what costs extra?+

Your stay is all-inclusive, except for: airfare, ground transportation to and from ASHA, travel insurance, and à la carte well-being treatments (such as massage or intuitive readings). You may wish to bring extra money for eating out when the group visits the hot springs.

Accommodation
What amenities does ASHA offer?+
  • Well-being / healing sessions (fees apply)
  • Pool
  • Complimentary coffee and tea table
What time is check-in and check-out?+

Check-in: from 2:30 pm to 5:00 pm on Sunday. Orientation starts at 4:30 pm — please arrive in time for Orientation.

Check-out: Saturday from 8:00 am to 9:30 am. The program ends with lunch at 2 pm (we suggest staying until the very end).

Can I stay off-site during BreathCamp?+

No, sorry, that option isn’t available.

Can I attend for just a day?+

No, that option isn’t available.

Can I book who I share a room with?+

Potentially. Book together to stay together at the same time. If you’re booking last minute, we may not be able to accommodate your request. Be sure to submit your request on the intake form when you sign up — very important.

Can I reserve and pay later?+

We’re sorry, but due to high demand your reservation is only confirmed once payment has been made, and we cannot hold rooms for you.

Are tents and glamping always available?+

During May and September the weather can be variable, so use at your own risk as we don’t offer refunds.

What is the refund policy?+

We do not offer refunds, and BreathCamp bookings are non-transferable between people (attending a different date may be possible depending on availability). Should we cancel BreathCamp, we refund the full amount minus currency exchange and bank fees. We recommend securing travel insurance. Please read the full terms and conditions before booking.

Well-Being Sessions
How do I book a well-being session?+

Contact reception for availability at info@asha.global and our reservationist will help you. You can also book at ASHA upon arrival.

What private healing sessions are available at ASHA?+

Life Direction Coaching & Breathwork Private with Anthony, private Intuitive Readings with Amy, Sound Healing, Massage, and more. If you’d like to book with Anthony and Amy, we suggest booking asap as space is limited. Contact info: info@asha.global
